Bully Ban hosts its’ first Google hangout on August 20, 2014 @ 7pm Eastern Standard Time. Join them for an exclusive peak of their high tech anti bullying solution that helps combat both cyber-bullying and physical bullying. Bully Ban is a safe, and easy all in one instant alert communication system that allows for two way mobile texting in real-time. This technology can be used by students and parents to instantly report bullying incidences on or off campus to administrators and local law enforcement.
The CDC states, technology and youth seem destined for each other. They are both young, fast paced, and ever changing. In the last 20 years there has been an explosion in new technology. This new technology has been eagerly embraced by young people and has led to expanding knowledge, social networks, and vocabulary that include instant messaging (“IMing”), blogging, and text messaging. However, this recent explosion of technology does not come without possible risks. Youth can use electronic media to embarrass, harass, or threaten their peers. Increasing numbers of adolescents are becoming victims of this new form of violence—electronic aggression. Research from the CDC suggests that 9% to 35% of young people report being victims of this type of violence. Like traditional forms of youth violence, electronic aggression is associated with emotional distress and conduct problems at school. Electronic Aggression is any type of harassment or bullying that occurs through social media, e-mail, a chat room, instant messaging, a website (including blogs), or text messaging.
Eighty-three percent of bullying incidents receive no intervention and continue to happen.
A study published by the National School Board Administration reports that only 33.1% of the middle and high school students surveyed agree or strongly agrees that teachers can stop bullying. This means that 2/3 of these students are not confident that they can get help from their teachers.
Bully Ban technology is a revolutionizing technology that finally gives students the safety and security they need to instantly take a stance and report bully incidences says, Melissa Maxim creator of Bully Ban. It is a tool that empowers students, a tool that prompts bullies to think twice about their actions, and a tool to hold authorities responsible for taking action.

How it Works?
A student or parent sees a bullying incident occurring or knows of a cyber-bullying incident occurring and reports it by texting “help” to 96000. That text is routed and received in real-time by the designated trained authorities alerting them of the bullying situation whether physical bullying or cyber bullying. The authorities can then contact the parents notifying them of the situation or in the case of physical bullying on campus actually show up to the scene within minutes mitigating the damages. The capability of instant two-way texting allows for the authority and person reporting the incident to communicate in real-time ensuring that help arrives on location or is contacted in a timely manner. All of the data can be aggregated into a report and analyzed.
Bully Ban technology is also used to take the Bully Ban pledge. Students and parents can text “BullyBan” to 96000. Students pledge to ban together and let bullies know their actions are no longer tolerated. There is power and strength in numbers. Parents pledge to help keeping your kids safer at school. Let your school administrators know you want Bully Ban patrolling your school campuses.
We are equipping students and parents with the tools they need to instantly, safely, and easily report any cyber-bullying or physical bullying incidences on or off campus. Its technology that has caused many of these problems and it’s technology that will help combat these problems, says Maxim.
