(Newswire.net — September 9, 2014)  — “The next James Bond? Yes, I would,” the 59-year-old said when asked whether he’d ever consider the role.

Washington then took the idea a step forward by calling for a social media campaign to help get him the role. He told everyone participating in the chat to tweet the studio and encourage them to make Washington the next Bond.

“We start the Denzel is Bond campaign today! James Washington. Denzel Bond,” he said.

The role of almighty Alpha male super spy was given to total of seven artists since the first “Casino Royale” was released in 1954.

Here is the list of all actors that played agent 007:
Barry Nelson (1), David Niven (1), Sean Connery ( 7), George Lazenby (1), Roger Moore (7), Timothy Dalton (2), Pierce Brosnan (4), Daniel Craig (3).

Craig’s fourth Bond movie “Devil May Care” will be released 2015, and there are more to come before new 007 would step into his polished shoes. By then, Denzel will be presumable too old for the role.

While is tempting to act along some of the prettiest actresses on planet and repeatedly save the humanity from the bad guys, there are actors that weren’t satisfied with their 007 role.

“I felt I was caught in a time warp between Roger [Moore] and Sean [Connery], “ said former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan. “It was a very hard one to grasp the meaning of, for me. The violence was never real, the brute force of the man was never palpable. It was quite tame, and the characterization didn’t have a follow-through of reality. But then that might have had to do with my own insecurities in playing him as well.” the 60-year-old actor said.

Since Skyfall, the public’s attention has been focused foremost on the film’s production and the visual effects, and not so on the matter of how many more Bond movies will feature Craig’s iteration of the iconic super-spy.

In the next-to-come Bond movies Craig was offered additional $60 million for his efforts.

If we ever live to see Denzel as the 007 super-spy, we can only imagine what he would be like, and that mental image is worth waiting for.
