Former weightlifter Scott Tucker will pass on knowledge of competition, training, and sportsmanship with debut non-fiction work. His eBook, “Heavy Thoughts,” takes readers through Tucker’s ups and downs, weaving in practical advice, anecdotes, and new rules concerning the sport. The book, which will be released in mid-October, will be available in all online formats.

“It’s really exciting to finally get this out there,” says Tucker. “I’ve been working on this book for about three years off and on now so completing it has given me much satisfaction. There are a lot of great books on weightlifting out there, but none of them really take you into the more technical aspects of how a competition works and what to look for.”

A manuscript copy of the book has already been shared with many highly regarded weightlifters and gym owners, and Tucker has received much positive feedback. If sales are high there are plans for a print publication as well as a second book focused on the difficulties of opening and maintaining a weightlifting gym.

Tucker will promote the release with a small book tour along the east coast visiting several gyms. There will be hands on demonstrations as well as Q&A sessions at each stop of the tour. Tucker hopes to make more contacts during his trip, furthering his ability to help others and spread knowledge about his sport.
