(Newswire.net — October 16, 2014) Sarnia, Ontario — According to Husky Energy, Inc., the cost for the first phase of the oil sands project is increasing, and the costs for the central plant is increasing so much that it is far surpassing initial projections.

What is so important about this project? Canada currently has one of the biggest oil reserves in the world, with roughly 97% or “168 out of 173 barrels of oil” of it located in the oil / tar sands. Even with the help of heavy duty equipment, these deposits of bitumen cannot be pumped out easily. Everything has to be diluted and heated first. This method is mostly used to help tap into the oil resources and capitalize on it.

On their website, Canadian Manufacturing has posted a revealing article referring to a recent talk from Canadian Press member Lauren Krugel. In it, Krugel confirms that Husky Energy, Inc. is facing a huge toll in its oil sands project currently in the Northern Alberta sector.

Who knows that having high quality and heavy duty equipment available in order to cut down on costs is incredibly important? Husky Energy, Inch. does. Yet they are also well aware that in order to keep this important project afloat, a good performance is mandatory.

The large machine shop in Sarnia called Central Machine And Marine is capable of of providing the most durable CNC and mining and milling equipment around. These machines include heat exchangers, shearing equipment and tools, line boring machines, vertical milling machines, surface grinders, and much, much more. The biggest challenge facing these companies is knowing which equipment they want to use in order to support one of Canada’s most invaluable resources. For at the same time they are delivering great work, they are also trying to keep costs as low as possible so it is economically possible to help in the first place.

As long as the best equipment is used, Canada’s oil sands project will bring great success. Extraction, refining, and processing this valuable raw material is not only possible, but happening right now. If the project is given the green light, Husky Energy, Inc. is hoping to produce between 330,000 to 355,000 barrels every single day of this year.
