(Newswire.net — October 27, 2014) West Hartford, CT — Petcare Veterinary Services is continuing its food drive to support The West Hartford Food Bank.
Petcare is a full service Veterinary clinic in West Hartford CT and is sponsoring a food drive to support The Town That Cares Food Pantry. Dr. Lauren Mascola, owner, veterinarian and local resident who routinely runs food drives for animal shelters decided to help out the local food bank for humans. She said “I read an article about the food pantry running low on food and knew I had to help”. “We care for cats and dogs, and cannot forget about the owners who sometimes need help feeding their families too.”
You can drop off items at 64 Raymond Road next to Whole Foods in Blue Back Square, during Petcare’s normal business hours, Monday 9:00am–6:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9:00am-7:00pm, Wednesday 8:00am-6:00pm, Friday 9:00am-5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm. They are collecting items through November 3rd and need the following items:
- Boxed pasta
- Spaghetti
- Sauce
- Cereal
- Canned Meat(Tuna, Chicken, Salmon)
- Jelly/Jam
- Peanut Butter
Financial donations are welcome if you are unable to bring items in for the food drive.
There are also collection boxes located around West Hartford. Drop off locations include:
- Stop & Shop, 176 Newington Rd and 1235 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford
- Whole Foods, in Bishops Corner and Blue Back Square, West Hartford
- Town Hall Lobby, 50 South Main Street, West Hartford
