(Newswire.net — November 14, 2014) Scottsdale, AZ — Poisoned Pen Press, a Scottsdale, Arizona, book publisher announced that it will release five new mysteries in November: “Caught Dead,” by Andrew Lanh; “Risky Undertaking,” by Mark de Castrique; “Deeper Than the Grave,” by Tina Whittle; “Die I Will Not,” by S.K. Rizzolo and “Mr. Samuel’s Penny,” by Treva Hall Melvin. The books offer readers who are young, old and somewhere in between a choice of entertaining styles and stories from a variety of mystery genres.

“As one of the world’s largest publishers of hardcover mysteries, we take pride in our ability satisfy the demand of our readers by releasing five of the best new mysteries from some of our most popular authors,” said company president and co-founder, Robert Rosenwald. “Finding and publishing mystery fiction books by the best writers spanning all genres is why my wife and editor-in-chief, Barbara Peters, and I started this company 17 years ago.”

Young adults will enjoy the latest in the Elizabeth Parrot Landers series of mysteries by Treva Hall Melvin in “Mr. Samuel’s Penny.” Fourteen-year-old Elizabeth turns a summer with relatives in a quiet North Carolina town into a search for clues into the mysterious death of a local businessman. The southern town is a world away from the 19th century London setting for royal scandals and a dead newspaper editor in the S.K. Rizzolo historical mystery, “Die I Will Not.”

“Risky Undertaking” finds North Carolina lawman and undertaker Barry Clayton on the trail of the murderer of a local activist that takes him to a Cherokee reservation and evidence that the killer might be a professional hit man. In a similar fashion, author Tina Whittle takes Tai Randolph out of the comfort of her job as owner of an Atlanta gun shop to solve a murder in which the prime suspect is Tai’s dead uncle in “Deeper Than the Grave.”

The fifth mystery being released by Poisoned Pen Press takes readers into the Vietnamese community of Hartford, Connecticut, as private investigator Rick Van Lam crosses cultural boundaries to solve two murders in Andrew Lanh’s “Caught Dead.” This is the first in a planned mystery series.
