(Newswire.net — December 14, 2014)  — Movie lovers looking for a highly acclaimed thriller can now watch “Not Forgotten” on Amazon Instant Video. The product listing for this film is found at: http://www.amazon.com/Not-Forgotten-Simon-Baker/dp/B002ZGEUFS

The film takes place on the Texas-Mexico border and tells the story of a kidnapping plot involving a ritualistic cult. The protagonist Jack Bishop’s (Simon Baker of THE MENTALIST) dark past is slowly uncovered as the kidnapping case unravels.

Jack Bishop works as a loan officer in Del Rio, Texas and is remarried to Amaya Bishop (Paz Vega), living with her and his daughter Toby (Chloë Grace Moretz) from his first marriage. Toby is kidnapped by an unknown perpetrator leading to the involvement of the local police and eventually the FBI. The FBI begins inquiring in Jack’s past only to find out he has no official records dating back farther than ten years, and there is no evidence showing how his first wife had died or where she was buried.

As a result of the film’s critical acclaim at the 2009 Slamdance Film Festival, “Not Forgotten” was picked up for US distribution. The film was notable for being the only entry picked up for US theatrical distribution from that year.

Variety magazine stated the film “satisfies as a solidly crafted and persuasively acted thriller that relies more on dark secrets than black magic” while The Hollywood Reporter commented, “Not Forgotten reminds you of a paperback you pick up at the airport…where the cover promises a pulp-ish combination of suspense, murder and…the story is so engrossing, you wish the flight were longer.”

This critically acclaimed film has been described as a dark, scary mystery thriller and already received many 5-star ratings and rave reviews on Amazon.

In particular, one Amazon viewer had this to say about the film:

“Not Forgotten is a good ride. The interesting plot twists and solid performances by Simon Baker (from tv’s The Mentalist) and Paz Vega take viewers on a journey of intrigue. Blending suspense, horror and action – the film makers even throw in a few laughs. I am usually a pretty good predictor of twists, but didn’t see this one coming. Exploring the dark religion of La Santa Muerte is fascinating and yet disturbing. A few keystrokes on the net will take surfers to an informational website about Santa Muerte to read more about it’s history.”
