(Newswire.net — December 17, 2014) Glasgow, Lanarkshire —

Robert Whiteford is excited with the launch of his official YouTube channel reaching nearly 2000 views in just 3 weeks. In interview videos on the channel, the championship fighter is stowing the virtues of using the Dolce Diet to stay fighting fit when mince pies are never far from reach at this time of year and the gym would be the last thing on anyone’s mind during the festive period. During the interview he describes the diet’s benefits and how it’s beneficial to his training.

‘It’s so simple to make food on this diet and it makes you think about what you’re putting in your body.’

For any UFC fighter pushing the body and making sure it is in the best condition possible is the order of the day. Robert heralds a restrictive diet that removes dairy, gluten and wheat as a chance to give the body energy in new ways. Even when making his specially made Pitbull Pancakes for breakfast every day, he’s using the diet’s positives to make sure it’s a meal that reaps benefits and not just calories.

‘I don’t even stick to it. I just choose to roughly stay on it and I’m not blowing up.’

Robert has said that showing commitment to yourself when dieting or trying to lose weight is much more important than feeling like you’re tied down a plan you don’t fully feel a part of.

‘If someone comes in with a chippy, you’d actually prefer the meals you’ve been making.’

Robert is hoping that with the videos on his channel, people will be able to get an insight in to how fighters plan out their diets and what role it plays in fitness as well as get to know more about the fighter’s personality more than just reading about him on Twitter or Facebook.

‘The Hydro is a suitable venue. I know the UFC have come to check it out.’

The fighter is hoping that 2015 will be his biggest year yet. His sights are set on representing his country when UFC comes to town in the first half of the year and a big fight in Glasgow would see his record improve on home soil with his countrymen firmly behind him.

‘Scotland is a fighting nation. We love to fight.’

As well as training himself, Robert also works within the local community, giving free training classes to members of locally run clubs across the Greater Glasgow area to help raise the profile of MMA in Scotland; something which he views as growing in a grassroots fashion in much the same way boxing has in previous generations. You can hear his views on this from the interview at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifXz1xuXi68.

‘For anyone watching these videos, I hope they come away knowing that simple changes to their diet can have a massive effect. You don’t have to be a fighter to follow a good diet plan. Anyone can excel as long as they stay committed’

You can see Robert talk about the Dolce Diet and what it has done for him on his YouTube page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxD7gt37aA8 as well as watch interviews on what it was like for him to break in to the UFC and it’s growing stature in his home country.

Robert Whiteford is an MMA fighter who is also Scotland’s First UFC Fighter. He holds an impressive fight record of 11-2. He is the current Featherweight Champion of both Supremacy FC and Vision FC. He trains with the American Top Team Fighter facilities in Florida, where he also teaches classes.
