(Newswire.net — December 26, 2014) Kingston, Jamaica — Staff member Trishana Walker coordinated the effort within the company and with the hospital in an effort to bring some smiles and spread some holiday cheer.

The Bustamante’s Hospital for Children has 283 beds and an Intensive Care Unit.  The hospital was established in November 1963 and is Jamaica’s specialist pediatric hospital. It was a former British Military Hospital but was transformed into a hospital for children after the British left and was named after the then Prime Minister, Sir Alexander Bustamante.  The facility is open 24 hours and sees approximately 77,000 patients per year.

The staff from Internet Income Jamaica also sang Christmas carols as they moved from ward to ward in the hospitals.  “It was amazing to see how much the children enjoyed us singing to them.  The faces lit up.  I’m glad we did it,” says staff member Kimone Johnson.

“This was an amazing thing to do for the children.  I also to make my staff more aware of the fact that they can do small things that can bring joy into the lives of others.  As we were leaving the hospital my team was thinking of other things they can do to help their local community.  That’s the bigger picture.  Now we have 20 young people who are determined to make a bigger difference in Jamaica,” says Alicia Lyttle, CEO of Internet Income Jamaica.

Charities, community centers and hospitals in Jamaica all need more local support from local companies and individuals.

“The children were so happy.  I hope that other companies will see what we did and become inspired to do something in their community.  It doesn’t matter how small, just do something and we will all make our country a better place,” says Andrew Reid, Director of Internet Income Jamaica.
