(Newswire.net — March 16, 2015) Marin County, CALIFRONIA — The Ananda Palo Alto Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, though new is led by faculty who are expereinced pioneers in the field of prenatal yoga. The course content features training that has been tested over time as well as the latest in scientific evidence.
“Our emphasis this first year is on creating a solid foundation for the Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training at the Ananda Palo Alto Yoga Center – something we can build upon for years to come. Our long range goal is to create a vibrant prenatal community here in Palo Alto – offering special workshops and classes in the prenatal yoga field – and to establish ourselves as a premier location for teacher training in this area.” says Heidi Nohkuhn, Director of the Ananda Palo Alto Yoga Center.
Unique to this program will be its dedication to integrate with the community at large by connecting interns of the program with pregnant women on location and at outside facilities as well as plans to conduct and publish quality research on the benefits of prenatal yoga.

Lead instructor and program creator, Nicole DeAvilla E-RYT500, RPYT, RCYT, served on the Yoga Alliance Prental Yoga Standards Committee, setting the minimum training qualifications and experience required for the training of prenatal yoga teachers. She is the author of the “Prental Yoga Teacher Training Manual”, as well as articles and blogs on pre-natal and post-partum yoga.
Faculty, Matra Raj, OTR, E-RYT500, teaches and certifies yoga teachers for pre-natal and mother-baby yoga and has designed a perinatal yoga program, “Becoming Parents,” for an education support network at Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University. She has also created educational DVDs for pre-natal and mother-baby yoga and authored “Yoga for Pregnancy, Birth, and Vibrant Life” (2011).
Who can take the program: Open to any yoga teachers who are at least an RYT 200, equivalent.
