Maria has over 20 years of experience in the field of intellectual property, franchise law, commercial litigation, copyright and trademark and internet law. Over the years she has represented software developers, writers, artists, website owners, musicians and photographers in various lawsuits throughout the U.S. Maria received her J.D. in 1988 from Hofstra University School of Law and a B.A. cum laude, from the same university in 1985. In 1983, she received her A.A. summa cum laude, from Suffolk Community College. Maria was admitted to the Arizona Court in 1981. Her other court admissions include the US Tax Court, U.S. District Court of Arizona and the 9th Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Maria is an accomplished author, she has written several intellectual property protection books. Some of her well-known writings include “Apple v. Samsung”, “The Balance between Patent Rights and the Free Market” and the book, “Protect your Writings: A Legal Guide for Authors” published in 2010. Maria wrote the scholarly legal guide book “Protect your Writings” to assist both new and seasoned authors, learn how to avoid costly legal mistakes. The book does this by offering real practical case solutions to everyday challenges faced by authors. As an accomplished professional lawyer, Maria has been a speaker at various internet law and intellectual property workshops and seminars. She has also made several appearances on radio and television to speak about intellectual property and related topics.

Maria is a board member of various institutions and organisations, including the Arizona Technology Council, Startup & Entrepreneurship Committee and the Institute of Harmonic Science. She is also a faculty member of the CEO Space Forums and a guest lecturer at the Arizona State University. Maria also sits on the U.S subcommittee of the Anti-counterfeiting Committee of the International Trademark Association (ITA). Her past working experience includes a working for the Arizona State Bar at the executive council of the intellectual property section. She has also worked as the Chairperson of Arizona State Bar Ecommerce & Technology section. In her pursuit to serve the community, Maria acts as a board member of the non-profit organisation, Safe Haven Inc.
