(Newswire.net — July 18, 2015) Sydney, NEW SOUTH WALES — The campaign for  Alzheimer’s Patient Frances Devereux, 88 to remain at her 72 Ridgmount Gardens apartment  has now been resolved, but the issue concerning the right to successor the lease of their former home is the final point which the Cafferata family want answered.

Following the death of their Mother, the Cafferata family made a petition to the Board of Bedford Estates to retain the lease of their Mother’s apartment and allow their Mother’s friend, Frances Devereux remain in their family home. Unfortunately for the Cafferata Family, Bedford Estates rejected their petition to renew the lease but the company did agree to allow Frances to remain in occupation following the intervention of Member of Parliament, Kier Starmer.

Derek Cafferata said: “We would like the Board to recognize that my sister and I were devastated by this news. Combined with the death of our Mother in December, and now with the loss of our family home, this has proved to be the saddest and most stressful year of our lives. The only bright spot is the Board allowing the continued occupation of my mother’s friends at 72 Ridgmount Gardens. Therefore on behalf of the Cafferata Family, we would like to sincerely thank the Board for at least granting that privilege.”

With the issue of a new tenancy agreement to Frances Devereux, the Cafferata Family’s focus is now centered on seeking the truth on any rights that their family had to successor the property.  Therefore in the spirit of trying to resolve this issue in an amicable manner, they only have one request of Bedford Estates. Provide the family with complete access to the Cafferata File held by Bedford Estates for 72 Ridgmount Gardens.
