(Newswire.net — July 27, 2015) — Jihadi John grabbed the attention of the media after ISIS released a sickening video of him decapitating US journalist Stephen Sotloff. This wasn’t the first time monstrosity like that was filmed, however his recognizable British accent under the black mask, earned him a nick name Jihadi John.
According to reports, Jihadi John is 26-year-old Kuwait-born, British-raised computer science graduate, Mohammed Emwazi. It is not known what exactly drove him into insanity of becoming a leading executioner for ISIS, but he is wanted by a US-led coalition for the sickening killings of American journalists and aid workers Stephen Sotloff, James Foley and Peter Kassig and Brits David Haines and Alan Henning.
Emwazi’s last public appearance was in a video released in January, when he decapitated Japanese hostage, journalist Kenji Goto.
According to reports, Mohammed Emwazi, left ISIS a months ago, fleeing to North Africa, because he feared that the Islamic militant group would turn on him, Daily Express eported.
If IS members find Emwazi’s value dropped upon the revealing of his identity, “he is no longer of any use to them,” a source told the Daily Express. “So it is possible he will end up suffering the same fate as his victims,” the source claims.
Reportedly, he also fears jealous members of IS might be plotting against him, according to source.
While living in the UK, Emwazi was characterized as “not a good Muslim” by his former friend, who described Emwazi’s appearance “like a gangster rapper.”
According Emvazi’s former school classmate who wanted to remain anonymous, “He [Emwazi] smoked drugs, drank and was violent towards other boys.”
“The fact he portrays himself as a strict Muslim is laughable and shameful,” she told Daily Express, adding that she never saw him pray or wear Islamic dress, or mention religion at all.
“Being a Muslim myself I was very aware of it at the time. We had a gang and he was very much a part of it — which shows he is a total hypocrite.”
