(Newswire.net — July 31, 2015) — According the Russia Today News, a Reuters’ reporter falsified testimony of a MH17 witness. A Lugansk Region resident, whom Reuters cites as saying he saw evidence of a surface-to-air missile launched from rebel-held territory on the day MH17 was downed, told RT that the whole story was a lie.
Fedotov, who allegedly told Reuters he was afraid of rebels, disputed all allegations in an interview published by the RT.
“When we talked about the Boeing on camera, I explained everything as it was,” a 58-year-old Fedotov, resident of the village Chervonniy Zhovten in the Lugansk Region of eastern Ukraine, told the RT correspondent.
“The things that I allegedly said off-camera were just made up by the journalist. It’s all lies. Off-camera, we never discussed the Boeing,” Fedotov told RT.
He confirmed that the Reuters journalist contacted him after taking the interview, but instead of offering a draft of the article, the journalist was asking whether Fedotov had gotten into trouble for speaking to him.
“The journalist called me and asked if I was in trouble. I was really surprised,” Fedotov told RT, adding that he understood the question when his friends told him in the article he was saying different things when the cameras were on and off.
“So it’s mere fantasy from the journalist or maybe he was doing it for his own benefit,” Fedotov concluded.
Reuters never replied on RT’s request for comments on the controversy and raw footage of Fedotov’s interview.
in addition to Fedotov, the agency cited three other eyewitnesses from the village. However, only Fedotov was cited describing the missile rising up from the rebels controlled territory.
Earlier the Ukrainian media falsely claimed that Dutch investigators concluded that the MH17 had been shot down by the rebels with a Buk missile, however, Dutch prosecutors told the RT that the investigation had not been concluded.
While some western media hurried to post photos of the children died in the MH17 tragedy on their front page, American investigative journalist Robert Parry told the RT he believes the CIA could shed some light on who is responsible for shooting down the MH17 flight, however, that information was deliberately concealed from the public.
“I have been told from a source who has been briefed by some of the US intelligence analysts that there are actually intelligence that are going in very different direction,” Parry told RT’s In The Now.
