(Newswire.net — August 3, 2015) Ivyland, Pennsylvania — Families, friends and neighbors can participate together. Cyclists can also participate alone.

“One day I hope to see my own face.  I hear it is adorable.” – Mitchell, age 12, CRB1 retinal disease

Participants that wish to receive the special event tshirt must register by September 1st at www.bikethebasin.org to be guaranteed delivery.  On September 20th, participants will ride and upload pictures to social media using the hashtag #BIKE4SIGHT and include the location of where they are riding.  In addition, young cyclists ages 1-18 will ride together at 9:30 am EST at the popular Bike the Basin event.

#BIKE4SIGHT is a worldwide event to raise funds and awareness for the Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation, a 501c3 non profit organization that is funding research for a cure for CRB1 retinal disease – a disease that ultimately causes complete blindness, mostly in children.

“Bicyling is a universal sport and fitness activity that many people enjoy.  The #BIKE4SIGHT event is a small way to make a big difference in the lives of those living with CRB1 blindness.  The proceeds of this event will go directly to research to cure this rare disease.” – Kristin Smedley, President Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation and mother of two blind sons.
