( — September 2, 2015) South Midvale, Utah –Alpine Technical Services, LLC, (ATS) of Midvale, Utah, and Earth Sciences Laboratories (ESL) of Bentonville, Arkansas, were able to assist the City of Herriman, Utah, recently in successfully treating a local pond and favorite swimming venue, Blackridge Reservoir, for algae contamination. ESL’s cutting-edge chemistry, EarthTec®, is credited by many in the community for its safety, simplicity and effectiveness.

Treatment results have been gratifying and positive — and the pond has now been re-opened.

Blackridge Reservoir was closed in early August when algae was determined to present a potential health risk to swimmers. ATS learned of the closure from local media and reached out to Herriman’s staff to offer assistance using ESL’s unique algaecide along with technical data and service. ATS had only two weeks earlier been appointed as ESL’s exclusive distributor for the western US for EarthTec® and its sister product, EarthTec QZ®, the latter being an EPA-registered state-of-art molluscicide shown to be effective against Zebra Mussels and their cousins, Quagga Mussels, which species has begun in recent years to invade western waterways, including large reservoirs like Lake Mead.

ATS is proud to represent ESL’s fine line of products and welcomes private, municipal and industrial inquiries and invites any interested party to view the ATS website at, or visit ESL’s website at to learn more about these exciting NSF/ANSI60-certified and EPA-registered products, and to receive a free no-obligation quotation or evaluation of your algae or mussel challenge.

Blackridge Reservoir has been re-opened for swimming. Visit Herriman City’s website for more details.
