(Newswire.net — September 22, 2015) — Fitness Life Stories, a website for improvement advice geared towards family oriented and active people, will show the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new outdoor gymnastics area of Grant Park. Local business man Scott Tucker donated fund’s and materials to build the new recreation area in the park.
“Somebody like Tucker has to step in to donate or help build when the local funding falls short,” says Fitness Life Stories blog contributor Hunter Williams. “The park was relatively old and really needed to offer more to the community is serves. The area has a lot of aging families and staying active is an important part of living a long and happy life and feeling good enough to give back to the community.”
The outdoor gym area has been in the construction process for the past month and will be unveiled during the last week of Fall. Tucker provided all materials and his own time to help construction time stay on track when building the simple equipment. Pull up bars, monkey bars, and other exercise pieces can be found in the new outdoor gym area recommended for use by anyone over the age of 12.
“I go to this park sometimes to walk my dog or enjoy the fresh air with a friend,” says Tucker. “And one day I noticed that nobody seemed to be using the park for exercise because there was no equipment to exercise on other than the playground area. So I decided to step up, and when I looked into the possibility of contributing some outdoor gymnastic equipment the parks department was happy to receive my assistance.”
Fitness Life Stories will interview Tucker at the ribbon cutting ceremony due the last week of Fall. More information on Grant Park and Tucker’s contribution can be found in a recent article on the Fitness Life Stories blog.
