(Newswire.net — September 23, 2015) Scottsdale, Arizona — Steve Broe will speak at a community literacy fair at the Riverview Park in Mesa Arizona on Saturday, September 26, 2015. The fair will be free, and open to the public between the hours of 10 and 3 pm. Broe will speak on the Literacy Stage at 12:30.
The Read for Freedom Literacy Fair has been organized as a community service by the charitable organization, Helping Hands for Freedom. This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Joy of Reading!” The event is expected to draw three thousand people, and will include information about first responders to community crises and veteran’s services. Families attending the event will be able to register their children for a read-a-thon, meet with educators and community leaders, hear the value of reading and learning at the literacy stage, and meet with the vendor-sponsors of the event.
The Helping Hands for Freedom event team hope to support local schools by involving 2000 students in reading activities, contributing 60,000 minutes read, and earning $120,000 in pledged funds – going 100% to local schools! Some of the local schools that have added their names as sponsors of this event include Sequoia Choice Academy, American Family Education, Montessori Day Schools and Eagle College Preparatory Schools.
Helping Hands for Freedom is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the military children of the fallen, wounded and deployed. Reading for Freedom is a fundraising event designed to promote literacy in our community. The aim of the festival is two-fold: to provide an opportunity for schools to raise money for their programs, and to raise money for the children of the many servicemen and women who fight to preserve the freedoms we enjoy in our country.
Steve Broe will speak on “The most important book I have ever read.” Dr. Broe is an executive coach and author, having recently released the best-selling book Leading the Way Up Mt. Olympus: How Acts of Leadership help People Become Successful (2015). Broe is also a university instructor with the University of Phoenix and Grand Canyon University.
