( — September 30, 2015) — Movie Favorites, a portal for movie discussion and news for entertainment fanatics, will spotlight Scott Tucker’s “Joke Writing Basics” workshop this winter. The four day course will be held in Indianapolis, IN close to the convention center.

“There are many aspiring screenwriters out there who need help and do not have a lot of options,” says Movie Favorites editor Michael Swan. “Education through workshops like the one Scott Tucker is putting on is very helpful for breaking through limitations writers may have. Joke writing is not as easy as it sounds but working on being funny and what it takes to keep coming up with jokes is crucial to advancing many writing careers.”

The workshop, which will cost $75 including refreshments and writing supplies like paper and pens, will be available to a maximum of 30 attendees. The final day of the class will feature a public audience to get feedback on the attendee’s collection of written material. Attendee’s can also elect to publish their written jokes on the course’s website at no cost after the conclusion of the workshop.

“There are a lot of comedy classes out there, and even some decent writing courses, but not like this one,” says Tucker. “I mean to put on a really effective workshop that will give every attendee a new set of skills or an improvement on the skills they come to the class with. The four days of class will really have a strict focus on being funnier and translating that into writing great jokes for screenplays.”

The class will be broken down into two separate modules: creative brainstorming on potential joke material, and writing material in the form of one line jokes. Registration will be available on Scott Tucker’s blog, sign up details will be published on the Movie Favorites website later this month.

A recent article on the Movie Favorites blog covered Scott Tucker and his writing career in detail. Tucker’s workshop attendees will be featured on Movie Favorites with clips of their best jokes after the class concludes.
