(Newswire.net — November 11, 2015) Braddon, ACT — Pacific Services Group Holdings, an Aboriginal labour group, has been invited by Michael Koundouris of the Koundouris Real Estate Group, to supply skilled Indigenous labour on a new Canterbury project called “Infinity Apartments.” Michael Koundouris, a leading builder in New South Wales and the ACT, has once again shown his commitment to closing the gap in training, education and employment for Indigenous people.
The Koundouris family has been a great supporter of PSGH to help employ and train Indigenous men and women in the construction industry. The Group worked closely with PSGH on San Souci, a large residential construction project in Sydney, and the partnership was able to achieve excellent employment outcomes for the Aboriginal labour force.
“We have a strong commitment to our Indigenous people, particularly when it comes to education and training,” notes Michael Koundouris, Construction Manager for the family owned Koundouris Group. “For many years, we have been partnering with various companies to supply high-quality skilled labour for our projects. The partnership with Pacific Services Group Holdings has been one of the most productive and positive in which we have ever engaged.”
According to PSGH, “Michael Koundouris, one of NSW’s leading builders, has once again proven his commitment to closing the gap in Indigenous employment, education and training.” By offering Aboriginal work forces a chance to be a part of a large-scale construction project, they have made it possible for many workers to develop the skills and experience that will launch them to even better careers in the construction industry and will ultimately result in a better-trained workforce for the region.
“We stand by our commitment to the people of Sydney, Canberra and the rest of the region to provide opportunities for Aboriginal workers for training that will provide them with the basic skills they need to compete in today’s construction market. We also offer opportunities to gain the experience they need to refine those skills so that they are in high demand in the construction industry.”
