The organizations were featured for their outstanding works, kicking off a NY Holiday 2015 feeding frenzy with the best of foods for a combined 200K+ pounds of organic vegan and vegetarian food, clothing and blankets to poor New York City and Long Island residents.
City Harvest partnered with Blue Apron and non-profit Give Them To Eat to grant organic Thanksgiving meals to over 45,000 NYC families. Community Solidarity Inc. created the “longest and largest” Vegan Thanksgiving, packed full of events from November 21st through December 1st, offering a range of vegan Potlucks, collections and giving of clothing and blankets, as well as Thanksgiving feasts at various locations throughout New York City and Long Island – serving over 87,000 pounds of food and articles to end their Vegan Thanksgiving 2015 event. Tofurky joined the NYC Mayors CAU to donate 300 of their famous Tofurky Holiday Roasts for NYC families to add to their holiday 2015.
