(Newswire.net — December 29, 2015) — New Data from American Staffing Association’s (ASA) quarterly Staffing Employment and Sales Survey confirms that staffing employment is on the rise. In the third quarter of 2015, U.S. staffing companies achieved the highest average weekly employment for any third quarter since 2000.
The number of temporary and contract workers reached an average of 3.32 million per week, which was an increase of 1.8% from 2014’s third quarter average. Comparing quarter-to-quarter, staffing employment increased 2.5% from second to third quarter this year.
After the report was released, Chip Black of Tab Staffing had positive comments. “Growth in temporary staffing acts as a barometer for the economy giving companies scalability, conveniently being able to add associates based on business needs. An increase in contract hiring is usually followed by an uptick in the economy. Increased spending by companies, combined with an election year are positive signs for 2016.”
Richard Wahlquist, ASA President and CEO, is also optimistic on the outlook for those seeking employment. “Staffing employment continues to grow as the demand for talent increases, and, with 5.4 million job openings in the U.S., there are lots of opportunities for job seekers looking for flexible or permanent positions.”
