(Newswire.net — January 13, 2016) Sydney, NEW SOUTH WALES — 4K resolution, otherwise known as Ultra High Definition, products are fast becoming the thing to own when it comes to home technology. Having been around for several years in video camera technology, Sony began offering 4K projectors for home theatre use back in 2012 and a range of 4K ready televisions soon followed.

Understanding 4K Resolution

But what actually is 4K and why do we all need to be viewing everything, from TV and movies to gaming, smartphones and computer monitors in this ultra-high definition visual effect?

In order to be considered 4K resolution, a screen requires approximately 4,000 pixels horizontally across its screen. In comparison to what we have become familiar with as 1080p, 4K would be the equivalent of 2160p, which is the measurement of pixels vertically. To put it simply, a 4K television has twice as many pixels as a high definition 1080p television.

4K Resolution Viewing in Your Home

So far, utilizing 4K in your home cinema has been a little restricted as not all television channels and movies are recorded and transmitted at this ultra-high definition resolution. However, over 2015 there has been a significant increase in television channels broadcasting in 4K. Others have also come on board the 4K technology train, including YouTube offering video in 4K and services like Netflix streaming certain shows in 4K.

For the true home cinema experience, you might consider any one of the numerous options on the market, like OLED, High Dynamic Range and Quantum Dot. All the major brands offer 4K televisions of varying sizes now, and this is expected to only increase, and increase dramatically. The good news is, the prices of 4K home televisions have consistently reduced in price since they emerged onto the consumer market.

4K Digital Video Projectors

If you want to go serious with your home cinema, you might like to consider a 4K digital video projector. While the technology has been around for some years now, there have been some major improvements in quality and a drop in price, as these pieces of quality equipment certainly do not come cheaply.

According to audio visual experts at VAF Research in Adelaide, one of the best ways to create the ultimate home cinema experience in ultra-high definition is to consider a Sony projector. Top of the line on offer through VAF Research is the Sony VPLVW520ES.

“While the price tag is a little hefty for some consumers at around $15,000 true home cinema goers realize just what this amazing project has to offer,” said Philip Vafiadis, CEO of VAF Research. This type of projector offers the very best in viewing quality. “Combine this viewing with top quality loudspeakers, like the Signature Series range of loudspeakers only available through VAF and you have the ultimate 4K viewing experience in your own home.”

So, what can you expect to see in 2016? More availability and utilization of 4K resolution viewing becoming available to the consumer market.
