(Newswire.net — January 26, 2016) — Hollywood, CA.
Paint it Black, the debut art show by Mike Falkow, will be open to the public on Friday, January 29, 2016. The event is presented by La Poubelle Bistro and Rogue Magazine and hosted by well-known musician Jonny Radtke, from the bands Filter and Kill Hannah. Paint it Black is open for one night only.
The theme of the exhibition is intense, dark and moody with overtones of Gothic and Anime images painted in acrylic on canvas. The inspiration for the series happened while Falkow was working on sketches of anime-type characters for a project. He felt drawn to some of the images and turned them into portraits, adding appropriate quotes from songs or movies on several of the portraits. “I’m not a fan of Anime films as such, but I appreciate the art,” he says. The series developed from there over several months and now includes more realistic portraits as well.
“Falkow is engaging, intelligent and simply one of the most brilliant of men in Hollywood. He has an eye for the “inner spirit” of his subjects.” HighlightHollywood.com
