Cooper Recalls Tires Due to Safety Violation

(Newswire.net — February 2, 2016) West Palm Beach, Florida — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (Cooper) recently announced they are recalling a certain line of tires due to failure to comply with specific requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS).

Zeon LTZ tires size 275/55R20 XL Extra Load tubeless tires are being recalled for failing to meet the standards set out in No. 139 of FMVSS “New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles”. The affected tires may experience tread cracking or tread lug chunking during use, causing possible loss of tire pressure and potentially increasing the risk for motor vehicle accident, injury and/or death.

The affected tires were manufactured between September 01, 2015 and September 14, 2015.

Cooper plans to notify all customers affected by the recall beginning January 2016 and dealers will replace the tires free of charge. For more information, owners can contact Cooper Customer Service at 1-800-854-6288 and refer to recall #161.
