(Newswire.net — February 15, 2016) Santa Ana, California — California skateboard ramp manufacturer OC Ramps got to experience a little more excitement than usual recently as they were picked to build a custom backyard skate park for pro boarder Kelvin Hoefler, ranked globally at number three in competition. The company has known Kelvin for several years, so the fit was natural. Based on a design collaboration between the ramp experts and Kelvin, a selection of obstacles, pipes, and rails were constructed and installed at the pro’s home in Los Angeles. “We had been in contact with Kelvin for several months when he told us he was buying a house in California,” says Tyler Large, president of the company.  “In November, we gave him a quote and got to work just before Christmas.”  To learn about the company and its custom wood skate ramp options, visit https://www.ocramps.com/wood/.

The major feature in the custom backyard park is a 30-foot wide quarter pipe.  A long platform connects several smaller obstacles and rails, with another smaller quarter pipe thrown in for good measure.  The company’s signature series of ramps made appearances in the custom skate park, too, including a 12 foot Hoffart butter bench and a TJ Rogers bench. Ramps and obstacles were crafted at the company’s Santa Ana warehouse, with all the pieces cut and predrilled. Then, they were brought to the property for final assembly. The total installation required nearly 10,000 pounds of materials and a full day of work to complete. After the final screw was inserted, the work crew and Kelvin set to work breaking the park in with an epic skate session.

Since 1997, OC Ramps has led the skateboarding industry with their ramps, pipes, and rails. The finest materials and careful design go into every product the company manufactures.  Every obstacle is predrilled at the factory facility and can be shipped around the world.  The company has built a reputation on quality and surprising affordability.  Besides wooden ramps and halfpipes, the crew at OC is also an accomplished park design team, working with cities throughout California and beyond to develop and install skate parks.  “Working with Kelvin was a blast,” says Tyler. “He loved the final result, and we got to spend some quality time enjoying the fruit of our labor!”  To learn more about the company, visit https://www.ocramps.com/
