In the game of “flashlight tag” the individual who is “it” is the person with the flashlight in their hands. 

The game, naturally, is played at night. The darker the night, perhaps with heavy cloud cover, the better.

While the person who is “it” waits in one spot for sixty seconds, the other players disperse to their chosen hiding places. 

Once the sixty seconds have passed the person who is “it” uses the illumination of the flashlight as a means to try to find where the other players are hiding.

Ideally, each person who is playing the game will be equipped with their own flashlight.  Once a player is “flashlight tagged” they then join the original person who was “it” in finding the other players.
