Dr. Roger Firestien Awards Creative Achievement Award

(Newswire.net — May 26, 2016) Williamsville, NY — Molly Hollinger, who graduated with her Master of Science degree in Creative Studies, is this year’s recipient of the Firestien Family Creative Achieve Award. Dr. Firestien presented the award as part of the commencement activities on Saturday, May 14th at SUNY-Buffalo State.

Originally named the Firestien Creative Studies Achievement Award, Dr. Firestien established the honor in 1999. It was re-cast in 2008 to honor his father, Chuck, who died in a tragic car accident in 2004.  In 2009, after consultation with his mother Ruth and sister Judith, Roger and his family renamed the accolade.

The Firestien Family Creative Achievement Award recognizes graduate students in the International Center for Studies in Creativity who have demonstrated expertise in training other individuals in Creative Problem Solving (CPS) methods and techniques.

Other recipients of the award include: Anthony Camacho, David Gonzalez, Shari Rife, Raymond Haley, Patricia Langan-Seibold, Robin Carr, Elissa Mittendorf, Ismet Mamnoon, Kathy Sue Dorey, Sarah Thurber, Juliana Trujillo, Hanne Bratsberg, Beth Slazak, Pauline Larocca, Mattia Miani, and Jose Pablo Alcazar.

About R. Firestien

Dr. Roger Firestien earned a Ph.D. in Communications during his academic years at the State University of New York. He is currently serving as a senior faculty member at SUNY-Buffalo State in the International Center for Studies in Creativity. His main objective is to develop graduate students to transform into mentors in creativity and innovation. He has also been the featured author of several books, articles, and audio programs. His perspective on creativity and innovation are known to be published in the following: The New York Times, Self Magazine, National Productivity Review, Creativity Research Journey, The Journal of Creative Behavior, and Entrepreneur.
