(Newswire.net — July 7, 2016) Darien, CONNECTICUT — If you are like 4 out of 5 Americans you will experience low back pain at some point in your life. You will probably not hear about using chiropractic to treat it because there is no advertising program for chiropractic. What you do about low back pain can have a profound effect on the quality of your life going forward. A trip to a chiropractor is as important as a trip to your dentist.

It is very hard to compete with the extensive powers of television and the web for that matter. Just as someone takes for granted what they find on Google to be true. They tend to believe what they see on TV as fact. When lower back pain strikes people turn to TV or the internet for advice. Therefore it has to be true whatever information they aquire. But does the information truly serve a person with a serious back when Advil has the number one position in search engine results?

Here is why 80% of American’s with back pain would benefit by seeing a chiropractor when back pain rears it’s ugly head. Most back pain sufferers will tend to think that the muscles are the problem. And to a certain extent they are partially correct. What they fail to reason is that the muscles of the lower back attach to the bones of the lower back. They are interconnected and will effect each other when either is over stressed physically. The muscles have a stronger nerve supply and will scream loudly when over worked. Usually they are overworked due to a physical stress from faulty bone alignment. Chiropractors call this a subluxation.

Imagine there are 5 coworkers in an office. One person is chronically late and often fails to show up for work all together. The boss still needs the work to be done so everyone has to work harder to make up for the slacker. You have 4 unhappy coworkers. Now one coworker has the flu and has to leave early on a Friday of all days. Now you have 3 upset workers who have to get the job done. At the very least one person is really unhappy now. There are 5 major components to a lower back problem. The bone, muscle, nerve, tendons, and the ligaments that connect the bones together. When the bone fails to support the soft tissue structures the muscles will give out. They have a limit and when it is reached there will be a spasm, often a painful spasm.

What does this have to do with lower back pain? Well think of the bone as the worker who does not show up for work. The muscles have to work harder to support the task of moving and stabilizing bones. The group is made up of bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and tendons all controlled by the bossy brain. So a failure of the bone to do it’s work results first in an over worked muscle that easily leads to spasm and fatigue. The muscle then further misaligns the bone in an effort to stabilize an unstable area. Before long the nerve gets irritated and alerts the brain to the fact that someone is not doing their job. The boss is not happy and starts to scream and you have one very big pain. This is where a chiropractor helps tremendously, her job is to re position the bone to allow for better movement of the muscle. It also acts to

So while medications abound that interrupt pain impulses. the underlying problem of the bone not showing up is slowly made worse and the pain becomes more intense. If Johnny cannot read because he does not have a reading light, you get Johnny a reading light not a new pillow. You have to solve the underlying problem. In the case of most lower back issues the bones are the root cause of low back pain. However the muscle screams the loudest due to it’s rich nerve supply and it gets the brains attention. Properly re position the offending bone and remove the extra tension on the nerves that tell the brain that the muscle is overworking and you can solve most cases of low back pain.

The rational brain assumes that if the pain is gone that the problem is solved. If you have ever watched The Odd Couple on TV you know what happens when you assume. Go see a chiropractor and get the bones put back where they belong. You will feel the pain go away as you get on with your life. The medication only stops pain however your everyday life and work has to go on. This is why you need a chiropractor for your back pain.
