(Newswire.net — August 11, 2016) La Verne, California — California-based ballistic target manufacturer Striker® Targets recently announced their new paddle target design. The new target paddles are designed to provide competitive shooters, law enforcement agencies, and casual plinkers a versatile system for both rifle and pistol cartridges. The new paddles consist of a T-shaped mounting bracket and a rounded paddle shape. Secondary paddle packages available during target purchase let the shooter use either rifles or pistols for practice. The company’s 3/8” AR500 targets normally come with 3/8” paddles, making them suitable for competition or practice with common rifle calibers. The secondary paddles are ¼” AR500 steel, letting shooters easily swap out the paddles for practice with lower-power pistol calibers. For these secondary paddles, a .380ACP cartridge has sufficient power to reset the paddle on the target frame. A revamped attachment system for the individual target paddles is also new. “The new bracket and pin mount allow the paddle to move more freely,” says Brent Lippincott, Striker® company president. “The target assembly isn’t as heavy as it once was, adding portability to the equation.” For a look at the company’s full range of handcrafted steel practice targets, visit www.strikertargets.com/ar500-targets.

As with all of the company’s extensive lineup of targets, the new paddles are made from ballistic-resistant AR500 steel. This steel type is tough and lightweight, making it a suitable choice for protective armor plates used by military and law enforcement personnel. Striker also makes a line of armor plates in several cuts, each rated to Level IIIA protection according to National Institute of Justice (NIJ) standards. The AR500 plates are designed to be inserted into fabric plate carriers and tactical vests, adding additional protection when used to supplement soft armor. In addition, the company’s online store and retail location in La Verne offer customers a huge selection of gear, including survival necessities, tactical equipment, and accessories for shooting and outdoor sports. The company has developed a well-deserved reputation for quality and selection in their targets, which have found favor among competitors as well as backyard shooting enthusiasts. “We are constantly seeking ways to improve our practice targets,” adds Brent. “Our goal is to make them easy to use and versatile for a wide range of shooting disciplines.”
