(Newswire.net — September 30, 2016) Parker, CO –Enrique Guzman Alarms, a premier business professional based in Utah, California and Colorado, encourages the citizens of the City of Yuma to register their home or business alarm systems as soon as possible if they have not done it yet. Enrique is extremely well-versed in the solar panel industry as well as in alarm systems.

According to Enrique, the city’s new alarm ordinance has finally come to fruition. Created in response to the increasing number of false alarms in the city, the ordinance is requiring both residents and business owners to register their alarm systems. The registration period, which is only 90 days long, began on September 1.

“Everyone who has and uses an alarm system must be registered by December 1,” states Enrique. “Failure to do so will result in a $50 penalty, on top of other penalties that may be charged. Residents and business owners should register their alarm systems as soon as possible if they want to avoid paying penalties.”

Registration is free and can be done online, so Enrique says alarm system users should have no reason to delay this. He adds that online registration is quite simple and easy, only taking a few moments to complete.

The new ordinance seeks to reduce the instances of false alarms, as false alarms are a huge waste of resources and manpower. The Yuma Police Department revealed that they had received around 5,000 alarms in a one-year period, majority of which were false. The YPD responds to every call since there is no way for them to know whether or not it is false, diverting them from more important duties in the event of a false alarm.

Alarm users will only get a warning for the first and second false alarms, however, with the third false alarm, they will be charged a $100 fine or be forced to take a false alarm awareness class. Penalties increase in amount depending on the number of false alarms following the third one. Starting at $100 for the fourth false alarm, penalties go all the way up to $250 for the 10th one. Any additional false alarms after this will cause the permit to get revoked.

“…four or more False Alarms within a permit year is excessive, constitutes a public nuisance, and shall be unlawful,” reads the new ordinance.

Since majority of false alarms are caused by human error, Enrique recommends those who have alarm systems to learn how to use their alarm property and train the rest of the users on how to use it. To learn more about his suggestions, visit: https://vimeo.com/enriqueguzmanalarms.
