(Newswire.net — November 16, 2016) — A bizarre sexual assault case came to an end. A serial rapist from Ohio, who sexually abused six of his female clients using hypnosis, was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Lorain County prosecutors said 59 year old attorney, Michael Fine, used hypnosis to abuse his victims and “take their dignity” when they came for legal assistance. The former lawyer, and father of two, abused at least 6 of his female clients for his own sexual pleasure.
The crimes were discovered after one of the victims suspected something else was going on and start secretly recording the sessions. The extent of Fine’s crime surfaced after one of his victims videoed a meeting as part of a police sting, reports NBC4I news.
One of Fine’s former clients described one of her sessions: “I went to Michael Fine with help in getting out of a terrible and abusive situation. I paid him to help me. He used my trust and his position as my attorney to gain information about my vulnerabilities,” she told the court.
“He then used that information not only to protect and defend me, but also to manipulate, hurt and take advantage of me,” she said.
Fine was arrested and charged with sexually-motivated kidnapping and attempted kidnapping. Two month after Fine pleade guilty on all counts, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison, The Chronicle Telegram reports.
Fine’s license was permanently revoked and he will be listed as a sexual offender for 25 years.
The attorney was sentenced to 12 years in prison at a Lorain County court on Monday, two months after he pleaded guilty to sexually-motivated kidnapping and attempted kidnapping, reports The Chronicle Telegram.
Using hypnosis for criminal purposes is not common; however, there was a case recorded in December 2014 when a store owner was hypnotized by a hustler who lifted thousands of Pounds right out of the motionless victim.
The store owner later claimed that he suddenly wasn’t aware of what was going on.
