(Newswire.net — November 20, 2016) — There was a time when you were very comfortable with just any model of phone, as long as you could communicate. But then, technology forcefully took over and kept on advancing.

As a mobile phone consumer, you stop being contented with the old model once the new one gets released. The hype is all over social media, you’re seeing the qualities of the new phone, the speed, the battery, camera, screen resolution, and so on.

Then all you begin to dream of is switching to the newly released model.

Technology is so appealing that even the smallest upgrade can be the reason why a new gadget totally sells out. For example, it’s clear the iPhone 6/6 plus and the iPhone 6S/6S Plus are in the same “6” family, but technology is so enticing that iPhone 6 users began to crave the 6S iPhones even before release.

It’s not a bad thing to want the latest update. We all want high quality mages, faster phones, phones that can go into the pool with us or ones that allow us the freedom of texting our friends in the shower ,or even merely show off how trendy we are.

Below are 3 tips to help you save on your next Smartphone upgrade:

1. Trade-in

Most times when the newest version of a phone gets released we immediately do not want to have anything to do with the previous one. You want to toss the phone into the trash and grab the new one.

That probably won’t help you upgrade to the latest version anytime soon. If you really want the newest release so bad, all you have to do is opt for a trade-in.

A trade-in is where you’re offered a fixed discount on the price of a new model in exchange for an older model.

For example, you can simply do an iPhone 6 trade-in to get an iPhone 6S or 7. How easier can that get?

2. Upgrade to a refurbished Smartphone

Have you ever wondered where the phones you trade-in end up?

Well, once you trade them in, the data gets wiped off and the phone components are totally changed into a brand new one (thereby making it almost new again) and then they get sold out to consumers as refurbished phones

You can choose this option because its way cheaper than getting the phone brand new.

More so, it would be very hard to spot the difference between the brand new and the refurbished – because the refurbished one comes back out very new and at cheaper rates.

Do your due diligence however, and ensure that it doesn’t come with any faults, and that wherever you’re purchasing it from is a legit platform.

3. Know when to buy and when not to

Considering the fact that the lifespan of most Smartphones these days are ever shortening and sooner than expected, a bigger better and faster version takes over, you should know when to make the purchase and when to just wait.

For example, if you’re planning on getting a new iPhone six months after the release date, then you should probably not at all, because in another six months it would be overrun by a better version, and you would have to repeat the cycle.

It’s preferable you keep saving up for the next release.

Don’t waste any more time wishing. Follow the above 3 tips to help you save on your next Smartphone upgrade, and you’ll most likely get your dream phone for far less.
