(Newswire.net — January 31, 2017) Wilmington, DE — Diabetes carries along many negatively life-changing health consequences. Diabetics are not just required to maintain healthy blood sugar levels but also take care of their body parts, such as their feet.

Thousands of diabetic Ontarians have their feet amputated every year. The number reaches up to 1,700 people who are subjected to amputation due to lack of regular foot assessments as well as a $100 medical device.

According to the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) and the Canadian Association of Wound Care (CAWC), there are around 85 percent of the 2,000 foot amputations performed on a yearly basis.

It was also revealed that proper preventive care is essential to avoid or reduce the number of amputations. Other health professionals joined both groups to urge the Ontario government in funding the universal preventative foot care as well as “off-loading” devices for every diabetic.

it is important to note that diabetic neuropathy makes it challenging for sufferers to notice or feel bruises and cuts to their feet. A dangerous ulcer, for instance, can develop out of a bump. There are custom braces that can help keep the pressure off the foot.

Unfortunately, the government has not provided funds for the device, which will help eliminate the pressure and speed up the healing process. Modern advances in medicine and early diagnosis for diabetics can help reduce the amputation cases.

According to Ontario Health Minister Eric Hoskins, the government is dedicated in providing diabetics with information and support. Part of diabetes care is proper management of wounds and foot care.

Calluses are one of the major problems many diabetics suffer from. Callus formation takes place when the skin is constantly exposed to pressure and friction.

For individuals with diabetes, having a callus can be dangerous since it can hide underlying foot problems. Podiatrists recommend that diabetics should seek professional help when it comes to dealing with calluses.

Those who do not have diabetes but suffer from calluses have many options to resort to. They may go to nail salons and seek help from nail technicians. They may also take advantage of products such as an electric callus remover.

One of the most popular electric callus removers is offered by Naressa. This product has received quite a number of positive feedbacks from its consumers.

There are those who state that the product has helped them maintain callus-free and healthy feet.  It is available for purchase at amazon.com (www.amazon.com/Electric-Callus-Remover-Naressa-Electronic/dp/B015GJDW18).
