(Newswire.net — January 25, 2017) — On Tuesday morning, in a live TV broadcast from Hollywood, actresses Jennifer Hudson and Brie Larson, joined by actor Ken Watanabe, director of photography Emmanuel Lubezki Morgenstern, film director, screenwriter, and producer Jason Reitman and Director of the American Academy Cheryl Boone Isaacs, announced the list of films nominated for 2017 Academy Awards.
Past winners and nominees announced this year’s nominees in 24 categories, and the winners will be known on February 26, when the gala ceremony will be held at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.
The host of the awards event will be Jimmy Kimmel, and the actual ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8.30 pm, New York time, or 5.30 pm, LA time.
Also, on February 26, the honorary Oscars will be awarded to actor Jackie Chan, film editor Anne Coates, casting director Lynn Stalmaster and filmmaker Frederick Wiseman.
“La, La, Land” landed 14 nominations, which was accomplished only by other two films in history, “Titanic” and “All About Eve”. It is not a big surprise that the film dominated the Oscar nominations, considering that it has already won many awards, including seven Golden Globes!
