(Newswire.net — March 8, 2017) Darien, CONNECTICUT — If you are like most people, you will experience lower back pain at some point in your life. Is it from sitting too much? Maybe the back pain comes from not exercising. Our bodies are mechanical in nature and we must face the fact that it will break down at times. Just like a car that will eventually get a flat tire thus creating a minor inconvenience. A back problem can run from a minor inconvenience to a serious issue.

The first key thing to beware of is pain that is worse at night. This sign is never a good thing. Typically pain will subside with rest. When back pain gets worse at night stop taking Aleve and get to your doctor right away. I don’t want to scare you with the word cancer but it just may turn out that bad if left undiagnosed.

Another red flag to heed is blood in the urine along with lower back pain. While it may be a simple urinary tract infection it could also be the beginning of prostate cancer. The same nerves that go to the back go to the prostrate so all pains are not equal. So if you are a women you should be concerned about the urinary tract infection while guys need to have their prostrate examined. Especially if they are experiencing back pain that is deeper and higher in the back near the rib cage.

So when you medicate for a sore back keep these things in mind. There is nothing wrong with taking Advil or Alleve for an occasional back pain. When you ignore symptoms that are higher up in the food chain you are jeopardizing your health. Now get off the couch and exercise and try standing more, as sitting too much can be the whole root of your back pain.
