(Newswire.net — March 16, 2017) Orlando, FL — Today, more and more people are turning to natural alternatives to help improve their overall health condition and fight diseases. One of these natural alternatives is green tea.

Research reveals green tea may be potentially beneficial against hypertension. Green tea contains antioxidants called polyphenols, which are widely recognized as they are believed to help with prevention of certain health concerns and the ability to help fight aging.

Polyphenols are believed to account for 30% of green tea’s dry leaf weight. The flavonoids in green tea called catechins are thought to be highly therapeutic. The epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) is believed to be one of the most powerful catechins in green tea.

EGCG has been found to have positive impacts of a variety of diseases and disorders. According to previous research, the polyphenols in green tea may influence the molecular pathways in shutting down the production as well as the spread of tumor cells.

These catechins are also found to inhibit the growth of certain blood vessels, which feed tumors. According to some experts, EGCG may act as antitumor and anti-angiogenic agent as well as aid in the modulation of tumor cell response to chemotherapy.

The EGCG in green tea is also believed to help slow or cease the concerns such cerebral thrombus, arteriosclerosis, stroke, and heart attack due to its potential ability to relax the arteries and enhance blood flow.

Researchers analyzed 25 randomized controlled trials and conducted a systematic review, which was published in the British Journal of Nutrition. In these trials it was found that long-term consumption of tea significantly helped improve blood pressure. This has been reported in Time Magazine.

According to the researchers, after the 12-week consumption of green tea, there was a reduction of blood pressure by 2.6 mmHg systolic and 2.2 mmHg diastolic. It was green tea that has demonstrated the most significant results, and the next most significant was black tea.

The reduction in systolic blood pressure was expected to decrease the risk of stroke by 8% as well as coronary artery disease mortality by 5%. It was also found that the all-causes mortality reduced by 4% at a population level.

Green tea has long been believed to offer a range of health benefits. It has a high potential to bolster the immune system and promote healthy metabolism.

This potentially therapeutic beverage can be purchased at grocery or local health stores. There are also supplements available that contain higher levels of green tea extracts.

Today, some of the most popular supplements do not only contain extracts of green tea, but also of grape seed, acai fruit, and red wine.
