Customer Service Triage Due to Human Feces Being Found in Coca Cola

(Newswire.net — March 29, 2017) Pasadena, CA —  “Taste the Feeling” Coca-Cola’s current slogan, simply strikes too many awkward taste buds this week, as Police are looking into how human waste ended up in a batch of Coca-Cola cans at a cannery factory in Ireland.

“Open Happiness,” yhe slogan of 2009, would not have fared much better as employees working the night shift at the Lisburn, Ireland plant halted the high-tech line when a pallet of cans clogged up the system.

“Life Tastes Good,” the 2001 slogan, would also be awkward as plant employees discovered an entire batch of cans contained human feces.

The cans arrive at the plant without their tops and are then filled with soda before being sealed and sold.

The tainted shipment was immediately impounded.

A spokeswoman for Coca-Cola spoke to the Belfast Telegraph about the incident, saying, “At Coca-Cola, we take the safety and quality of our products extremely seriously. We are aware of an incident involving empty cans at our plant in Knockmore Hill, Lisburn. We are treating this matter extremely seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation in co-operation with the PSNI.”

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed on Tuesday that it was investigating how the feces ended up in the soda cans.

“Detectives are investigating an incident at commercial premises in the Lisburn area following reports that a consignment of containers delivered to the premises had been contaminated,” said a police spokesman. “The investigation is at an early stage and there are no further details available at this time.”

The soft drink giant also added that this is an isolated incident that “does not affect any products currently on sale.”

“This is bad for Coca-Cola,” stated Andrew Carlson, a customer service consultant in the food industry. “While an incident like the cyanide deaths involving Tylenol were potentially a company killer, Coca-Cola caught this in time to diminish what could have been a disaster.”

Indeed, in recent years, the soft drink industry has been under increased scrutiny regarding the nutritional value and harm their product has on consumers. “It is one of the world’s most well known brands. By inviting a neutral, 3rd party (law enforcement) immediately to the scene, Coca-Cola showed their customers their objectivity and passion for the truth,” said Carlson.

Carlson is no stranger to using customer service as a marketing vehicle. His book, “Customer Service is the Bottom Line” is an up and coming #1 Amazon Best seller.

As far as “Things Go Better With Coke” (1969 slogan) it seems truth and transparency are the perfect compliment.
