(Newswire.net — April 13, 2017) Orlando, FL — Today, the consumers of alcoholic beverages are getting younger and younger. Alcohol may not be harmful when consumed moderately. On the other hand, alcohol abuse can increase the risk of certain medical conditions.

Resveratrol may be nature’s gift to chronic alcohol consumption. Alcoholic beverages have been consumed for thousands of years. There are those who drink alcohol only during gatherings and events, while there are those who feel that can’t live a day without it.

Excessive alcohol consumption can increase one’s risk of damage in the liver, which can result in a fatty liver. People who consume excessive amounts of alcohol are more likely to have fat buildup in the liver.

“Resveratrol is thought to offer protection against liver damage,” said Mary Jackson, the spokesperson of Divine Bounty.

A study was spearheaded by Joanne M. Ajmo from the University of South Florida Health Sciences Center in Tampa. This study, which was published in The American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, tried to determine the possible effects of resveratrol in mice with alcoholic fatty livers.

The researchers found that the alcohol-fed mice that received the resveratrol treatment had reduced fat in their livers. They also revealed that the resveratrol-dosed mice experienced faster fat breakdown than those that did not receive the resveratrol.

Resveratrol can be found in certain food sources, such as red wine, grapes, berries, and peanuts. This potential antioxidant has been associated with health benefits against heart disease and cancer. It is thought to be helpful in activating certain molecules, which are vital for the liver’s fat metabolism.

It is important to note that chronic alcohol abuse inhibits these molecules. The findings of the study demonstrate that resveratrol may have the potential to help protect the liver.

While studies are still underway to validate the effects of resveratrol, there are an increasing number of people who are turning to the use of this natural alternative. Consumers can take the powerful properties of resveratrol by consuming certain food items. However, they may also turn to resveratrol supplementation.

There are individuals who are aiming to improve their overall health by taking resveratrol supplements. Supplements are believed to be popular due to the fact that they contain higher levels of resveratrol’s potentially therapeutic properties.

One of the most notable resveratrol supplements contains a variety of other ingredients. This product does not only contain extracts of grape seed, but also of acai fruit, red wine, and green tea.
