(Newswire.net — May 9, 2017) Orlando, FL — Chronic gastritis is a condition that affects a lot of people from around the world. There are actually pharmaceutical drugs available for the condition. However, as many experts always suggest, it is better to have the condition prevented than let it develop.

UCLA-led study reveals green tea could potentially prevent chronic gastritis. This therapeutic beverage has long been believed to fight a variety of diseases and disorders. It is also something that individuals who are more likely to suffer from chronic gastritis should consume on a daily basis.

According to the researchers from the CLA School of Public Health and Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCLA, green tea drinkers are less susceptible to chronic gastritis than nondrinkers.

The study was published in the peer-reviewed International Journal of Cancer. It has actually supported the previous research study that reveals green tea consumers have reduced risk of stomach cancer by 48 percent than nondrinkers of green tea.

Researchers also reveal that as the duration and frequency of  green tea consumption increased, the risk of stomach cancer and chronic gastritis also decreased.

This inflammatory disease is quite common, and it actually results in precancerous lesions of the stomach. It is worth remembering that there is usually a slow progression from chronic gastritis to stomach cancer.

The antioxidants in green tea is believed to prevent chronic gastritis and stop the progression of stomach cancer.

The study suggests that when green tea is used to treat chronic gastritis as well as a preventive therapy in populations that are considered to be high risk, it would decrease the incidence of stomach cancer on a long term basis.

In a research study conducted in Yangzhong, China, the researchers investigated 133 stomach cancer cases, 433 healthy people, and 166 cases of chronic gastritis.

Green tea can be conveniently consumed in a form of a beverage. There are also supplements available that contain high amounts of green tea extracts.
