(Newswire.net — June 1, 2017) –Strange red strobe lights flashing at the second floor of the White House in Washington DC on Sunday night, which were captured by livestream webcams that are regularly positioned on the White House, triggering numerous speculations.
No one knew what was going on. Social networks users rushed to spread conspiracy theories, while some offered rather humorous comments:
“If the lights are red, the Russians must have arrived.”
”Trump was having a secret conversation with the Kremlin.”
“Red light is the warning sign that President Donald Trump escaped.”
“It is a disco dance party.”
”This could be signs of aliens.”
”Is someone having a Memorial Day turn-up at the White House. Looks like club lights.”
One Twitter user even referred to the 1977 movie “Red Light in the White House”.
The mysterious red lights were even more interesting as President Trump was inside the White House. It was his first day at the residence following his nine-day foreign trip, New York Post reported.
The daily has also solved the mystery of the strange red strobe lights.
They spoke with a spokesperson for the Secret Service on Monday, who revealed that the lights were from an emergency vehicle responding to an incident across the street in Lafayette Park.
“The red lights had nothing to do with the White House,” a Secret Service spokesperson told the daily.
A man fell ill on a park bench across the street from the White House around 8:09 p.m. and a fire truck and ambulance arrived.
They stayed for about 40 minutes to treat the man as he declined transport to a hospital, according to communications chief for DC Fire & EMS, Doug Buchanan.
It turned out that a big fuss had been made over nothing. The president is safe, nothing unusual happened on the second floor of the White House as the red lights were a mere reflection of an emergency vehicle in the area. Something that can happen anyplace, anytime.
