(Newswire.net — June 22, 2017) Orlando, FL — Inflammation has long been believed to cause a variety of diseases and disorders. The good news is that there are natural remedies believed to be helpful for fighting inflammation.

Green tea may have powerful anti-inflammatory effects. This beverage has been consumed since time immemorial, especially in China. It is widely popularized by the antioxidant properties it contains.

According to Jack F. Bukowski, M.D., PhD, a rheumatologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, drinking tea can boost the ability of T cells to react against viral and bacterial infections.

This action is believed to help the body fight colds and flu. Dr. Bukowski added that it could be good for individuals with rheumatoid arthritis who are under immunosuppressive medications, which actually make them more susceptible to infection.

The researchers from the Western Reserve University in Cleveland reveal that a substance in green tea called EGCG may stop the progression of arthritis by blocking interleukin-1 from damaging the cartilage. Interleukin-1 is a pro-inflammatory cell.

There are many health benefits that green tea is believed to offer. It has the potential to promote heart health through reducing levels of cholesterol and triglyceride levels in individuals with cardiovascular disease.

Stephen D. Hsu, PhD, a researcher at Georgia Health Sciences University in Augusta, reveals that polyphenols have the capacity to induce certain tumor cells toward programmed cell death otherwise known as apoptosis.

Green tea is also believed to improve both the quality and strength of bones. In a study, it was found that drinkers of tea have 30 percent reduced risk of hip fractures. Dr. Hsu also says that the beverage can promote healthy growth of skin cells, and this could aid in wound healing as well as psoriasis.

The United Kingdom lab study also reveals that consumption of black and green tea could slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. In a lab study in Germany, it was found that the tea could potentially inhibit the neural damage as well as inflammation linked with the progression of multiple sclerosis.

Regular consumption of green tea could potentially offer certain health benefits. Thus, consumers are advised to increase their consumption of green tea.

Green tea can be consumed in a beverage form but there are also supplements available. One of the best supplements available nowadays is resveratrol, which is an antioxidant.

One of the most popular resveratrol supplements is one that contains a combination of therapeutic ingredients, such as extracts of green tea, grape seed, Acai fruit, and red wine.
