Pain is a huge issue in this country.  Pain affects more Americans than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined.  In the 90s, pharmaceutical companies offered opioids as a safe option for pain management.  Prescription sales for opioids sold have quadrupled with no overall change in the amount of pain reported.

That’s more than the total number of Americans living with diabetes, heart disease and cancer—combined. (And that number doesn’t reflect the number of children living with chronic pain!) Of the 100 million individuals with chronic pain nationwide, nearly 40 million have severe pain. https://www.uspainfoundation.org/living-with-pain/.

Dr. Steve Warren- Primary Investigator

“One of the main reasons I became primary investigator for this CBD study is due to the fact that my colleagues and I struggle with finding ongoing pain relief for a high number our patients on a daily basis. We as doctors are very reticent to prescribe opioids, because they are so addictive and often lead to illegal drug usage. Many of those who are currently abusing drugs started with prescription drugs.”

“In addition, patients with pain issues with or without the doctors’ knowledge may turn to marijuana to manage their symptoms.                                                                                                                                                Doctors have two issues with this, (1) legality and (2) no idea of the potency of the marijuana patients are taking.”

Chris Cannon – ENDO-C Founder

“Pain is a very personal issue for me. I have watched my daughter suffer from cancer. She was in a lot of pain and the traditional medications were not doing the job. Our family’s experience drove me to look for alternative solutions. CBD showed great promise, but I was surprised at how little data was available about the use of CBD. At that time, CBD was not yet legal in any form, so I looked at what the legislators were doing regarding CBD in Utah. Brad Daw was already working on legislation for research.”

Dr. Steve Warren- Primary Investigator

“CBD oil in the ENDO-C study has no THC. This means, the participants can have the pain-relieving benefits without the high.”

“The team at Endo-C wanted a high-quality CBD solution to ensure the best results for their study. The vehicle had to be consistent in dosage, quality and bio-available. After extensive search looking for a partner for CBD we found Jessie Lopez and his team at Source One Global Partners.”

Peter Grant –CEO – Endo-C

“We are honored to have this opportunity to study the effects this research could have on Pain, as well as Anxiety and Sleep. In order to provide the best care to our participants and be able to effectively grow and run this and future studies, Endo-C needed a world class system. We found people that understood business and how important the infrastructure is to providing a service. We are excited about our entire research system.”

  • How does Endo-C fit into the current landscape?

“There are a lot of claims out there regarding medical marijuana. Endo-C wants to bring a solid scientific approach to researching CBD in regards to pain-management, anxiety and sleep. We want our participants to have a high quality, easily administered CBD – Gel Cap for the best results for them and for our study.”

  • Is this the only study you plan to do?

“We are currently planning to run another study on CBD cream. We are also looking to partner with doctors and pain clinics, for example, to help them run studies on subjects and products in which they may have interest. “

 Randy Bambrough – CFO –  ENDO-C

“We have a unique opportunity here to help people now through this study. Endo-C has all the elements from the infrastructure to perform studies with the best ingredients available, but also to be able to expand to other types of studies. Eventually we are looking to expand to other states. Utah is not the only one struggling to provide options to chronic pain. Other states are struggling to manage this issue through the medical and legislation communities. In addition, Endo-C is ready to offer our infrastructure to those looking to do studies. Our company has expertise and is excited to assist. We are currently starting with this one study in Utah. But, we are looking at other states also.”

  • Every day, more than 90 Americans die after overdosing on opioids.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the total “economic burden” of prescription opioid misuse alone in the United States is $78.5 billion a year, including the costs of healthcare, lost productivity, addiction treatment, and criminal justice involvement.
  • Roughly 21 to 29 percent of patients prescribed opioids for chronic pain misuse them.
  • About 80 percent of people who use heroin first misused prescription opioids.

  • The need for a reduction is urgent in Utah, where about 7,000 prescriptions for opioid painkillers are issued per day on average.
  • Data suggests Intermountain Health Care’s 22 hospitals and 180 clinics prescribe about 19 million opioid tablets per year, said Lisa Nichols, director of community health partnerships for Intermountain.
