(Newswire.net — January 2, 2018) –Since he became President of the United States in January 2017, Donald Trump has caused a huge amount of controversy, much of which has stemmed from his regular and sometimes outrageous Twitter comments. According to reports that have come out over the past couple of days, the President has been on Twitter to take credit for commercial air safety being at its lowest level ever and one report claims that he has made over 1.950 false or misleading claims over the past year, many of which were made on Twitter.

He has also kicked off 2018 with an insulting Tweet about Pakistan, to which Pakistani officials have responded with shock and disbelief. According to reports on fox news live stream, he tweeted the comment on New Year’s Day.  Shortly after this, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, said that Pakistan had been playing games with them for years. She added that they work with them but at the same time protect the terrorists that hurt them.

An insulting tweet sent on the first day of 2018

Haley said that if Pakistan continued to protect and harbor terrorists, they would withdraw financial aid and funding. Trump had already taken to Twitter by this time and posted a comment that claimed the United States had ‘foolishly’ given Pakistan over $30 billion in aid over the past decade and a half. He went on to state that their leaders treated U.S. leaders like fools and thought that they could get away with lying to and deceiving them.

The Pakistani Prime Minister was chairing a National Security Committee meeting with a number of government officials present. After the meeting, the committee expressed its shock and disappointment at the comments that had been made. They went on to say that Pakistan had made huge sacrifices, including that of human life, over the years and that the trust had been built between the two countries had been disrespected by the U.S. leader by comments such as these.

In addition to expressing how incomprehensible the comments were, the Foreign Minister for Pakistan also questioned Trump’s figure of $33 billion in aid. In fact, he said that Trump could hire a U.S. auditor to come to Pakistan and calculate just how much had been given in aid over the past decade and a half. The minister even offered to pay for this to happen, stating that it would show who was being truthful and who was telling lies. In a tweet that was posted today, the Pakistani foreign minister said that Trump should ‘hire a U.S. auditor at our expense’ to show the world who was the deceitful liar.

Discussions about the controversial tweets are already rife online after reports on sites such as Hulkuse.
