( — February 23, 2018) Orlando, FL — Today, many men and women resort to various measures just to lose weight and stay physically fit. There are those who follow certain dietary programs while others stick to their exercise regimen. The good news is that there are natural alternatives believed to be helpful for weight loss.

Fish oil is believed to be helpful in reducing excess belly fat. Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are healthy fats essential for brain and body functions. Omega-3 fats may be obtained from eating fish such as tuna, sardines and halibut.

“There is also another option, which is to use fish oil supplements,” said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O’Sullivan.

While omega-3 fats are believed to be highly therapeutic but they cannot be produced naturally by the body. This means that they must be taken through food or supplementation.

Omega-3s are believed to have fat-burning abilities and may trigger the reduction of fat storage inside the body. There are popular forms of omega-3 fatty acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid and linolenic acid.

According to, fatty acids can help in the fat breakdown process and at the same time, reduce additional fat storage.

In the study published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the researchers tried to examine the effects of exercise and fish oil on fat breakdown. The participants were overweight individuals with high cholesterol, and they were given 6 grams of tuna on a daily basis for 12 weeks.

The participants were also made to walk for 45 minutes every day. After the 12-week study, it was found that they achieved a reduction of triacylglycerols. This is a fatty acid believed to be responsible for the hardening of the arteries. The researchers also found that both fish oil and exercise independently helped reduce body fat mass.

According to the National Institute of Health, fish oil may also have the potential to reduce blood sugar levels. High levels of blood sugar equate to the production of insulin by the body, which actually prevents fat loss. By reducing levels of blood sugar, fish oil may be able to aid in the prevention of a surge of insulin, and thus, aid in fat loss.

The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition published a study in 2010. It was found that the participants gained lean muscle mass after 6 weeks of supplementation of fish oils. Using fish oil supplements may be a great start to losing weight, especially as omega-3s are believed to be highly therapeutic.
