The Best Diet for Overcoming Obesity

( — April 16, 2018) Cheyenne, Wyoming — Globally, the medical condition of obesity is at critical proportions. More than merely being overweight, the term obesity is used to describe those whose excessive weight has mushroomed to the point of putting their lives at great risk. In the United States alone, it is estimated that 300,000 people die per year as a result of obesity-related diseases.

“Updated August 31, 2017: According to the most recent data, adult obesity rates now exceed 35 percent in five states, 30 percent in 25 states, and 25 percent in 46 states,” discloses The State of Obesity, an advocacy group campaigning under the slogan Better Policies for a Healthier America. “West Virginia has the highest adult obesity rate at 37.7 percent and Colorado has the lowest at 22.3 percent. The adult obesity rate decreased in Kansas between 2015 and 2016, increased in Colorado, Minnesota, Washington, and West Virginia, and remained stable in the rest of states.”

The numbers speak for themselves but what’s the solution to such a massive problem? Scientists and medical professionals have been searching for the answer to this very same question. There is now experimental data to support the position that a ketogenic diet is the one’s best hope.

“Different methods for reducing weight using reduced calorie and fat intake combined with exercise have failed to show sustained long-term effects,” explains the U.S. National Library of Medicine research paper entitled Long-term effects of a ketogenic diet in obese patients. “Recent studies from various laboratories, including our own, have shown that a high fat diet rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (ketogenic diet) is quite effective in reducing body weight and the risk factors for various chronic diseases. The present study shows the beneficial effects of a long-term ketogenic diet.”

Ketosis, the process by which the ketogenic diet hinges on, was found to reduce obese patients’ weight and body mass index while increasing good cholesterol (high density lipids) plus lowering triglycerides, bad cholesterol (low density lipids) and blood glucose levels.

The “keto” in a ketogenic diet comes from the fact that it makes the body produce small fuel molecules called “ketones”,” explains “This is an alternative fuel for the body, used when blood sugar (glucose) is in short supply. Ketones are produced if you eat very few carbs (that are quickly broken down into blood sugar) and only moderate amounts of protein (excess protein can also be converted to blood sugar). On a ketogenic diet, your entire body switches its fuel supply to run almost entirely on fat. Insulin levels become very low, and fat burning increases dramatically. It becomes easy to access your fat stores to burn them off. This is great if you’re trying to lose weight, but there are also other less obvious benefits, such as less hunger and a steady supply of energy, keeping you alert and focused.”

Clearly there’s something special about the keto diet. There are also exogenous ketones such has the HealthyWiser™ KetoFast™ Supplement Powder which is designed to induce and sustain a healthy state of ketosis. The KetoFast™ in particular is formulated to enhance nutrient absorption, support brain health and boost energy levels.
