The Cost and Cure of Obesity

(Newswire.net — April 21, 2018) Cheyenne, Wyoming — In the United Kingdom, the National Health Service revealed that it spends more on obesity and obesity-related conditions than what the nation spends on the police and fire department combined. Roughly 40% of the National Health Service’s resources are dedicated to this issue. Proper dieting and exercise is the obvious solution for curbing this problem but even in America, this matter still persists.

“Updated August 31, 2017: According to the most recent data, adult obesity rates now exceed 35 percent in five states, 30 percent in 25 states, and 25 percent in 46 states,” discloses The State of Obesity, an advocacy group campaigning under the slogan Better Policies for a Healthier America. “West Virginia has the highest adult obesity rate at 37.7 percent and Colorado has the lowest at 22.3 percent. The adult obesity rate decreased in Kansas between 2015 and 2016, increased in Colorado, Minnesota, Washington, and West Virginia, and remained stable in the rest of states.”

Obesity remaining stable throughout most of the country isn’t such great news, while some things can be celebrated for being stable, obesity isn’t one of them. A stable house, a stable job, a stable relationship, awesome! Stable obesity rate? Aaahh no thanks. There is very little excuse for becoming so grossly overweight and this isn’t about “fat shaming” but rather about the direct health and fitness concerns at hand which can be addressed with the proper weight loss regime.

“Different methods for reducing weight using reduced calorie and fat intake combined with exercise have failed to show sustained long-term effects,” explains the U.S. National Library of Medicine research paper entitled Long-term effects of a ketogenic diet in obese patients. “Recent studies from various laboratories, including our own, have shown that a high fat diet rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (ketogenic diet) is quite effective in reducing body weight and the risk factors for various chronic diseases. The present study shows the beneficial effects of a long-term ketogenic diet.”

With science supporting the positive results of the ketogenic diet, this trend continues to increase in popularity, even among celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Kourtney Kardashian just to name a few. So with the endorsement of medical professionals and various research groups, the keto diet is possessed to be around for a long time to come, but how does the keto diet actually work?

The “keto” in a ketogenic diet comes from the fact that it makes the body produce small fuel molecules called “ketones”,” explains DietDoctor.com. “This is an alternative fuel for the body, used when blood sugar (glucose) is in short supply. Ketones are produced if you eat very few carbs (that are quickly broken down into blood sugar) and only moderate amounts of protein (excess protein can also be converted to blood sugar). On a ketogenic diet, your entire body switches its fuel supply to run almost entirely on fat. Insulin levels become very low, and fat burning increases dramatically. It becomes easy to access your fat stores to burn them off. This is great if you’re trying to lose weight, but there are also other less obvious benefits, such as less hunger and a steady supply of energy, keeping you alert and focused.”

Nature has an amazing way for caring for itself and the human body is not different, the keto diet is all about tapping into a natural weight control system by using fat cells as the raw material for generating energy. There are also exogenous ketones like the HealthyWiser™ KetoFast™ Supplement Powder which does an impressive job at inducing and sustaining ketosis while providing the added benefits of brain health support, enhancing nutrient absorption and boosting energy levels on a whole.
