Recognizing World Obesity Day

(Newswire.net — April 26, 2018) Cheyenne, Wyoming — The 11th of October is globally recognized as World Obesity Day, it was created to bring awareness to the issue and stimulate practical solutions to getting rid of the world’s obesity crisis. It’s quite amazing that there are literally millions of people starving to death as they live on little to nothing yet in other regions, the problem is the exact opposite, people are dying because they’re eating too much.

“Updated August 31, 2017: According to the most recent data, adult obesity rates now exceed 35 percent in five states, 30 percent in 25 states, and 25 percent in 46 states,” discloses The State of Obesity, an advocacy group campaigning under the slogan Better Policies for a Healthier America. “West Virginia has the highest adult obesity rate at 37.7 percent and Colorado has the lowest at 22.3 percent. The adult obesity rate decreased in Kansas between 2015 and 2016, increased in Colorado, Minnesota, Washington, and West Virginia, and remained stable in the rest of states.”

All across America there are people living sedentary lives, consuming much more than they need and moreover, most times they are scoffing down the unhealthiest of things, which frankly shouldn’t be manufactured or labeled as “food” in the first place but that discussion is for another time. The point is, the way one treats themselves is literally what will be reflected and hopefully the World Obesity Day campaign is able to convince people that working out and eating a lot less is critical to better health.

“Different methods for reducing weight using reduced calorie and fat intake combined with exercise have failed to show sustained long-term effects,” explains the U.S. National Library of Medicine research paper entitled Long-term effects of a ketogenic diet in obese patients. “Recent studies from various laboratories, including our own, have shown that a high fat diet rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (ketogenic diet) is quite effective in reducing body weight and the risk factors for various chronic diseases. The present study shows the beneficial effects of a long-term ketogenic diet.”

A high protein/low carb diet is ideal for those suffering from obesity because it’s actually so filling that there is little desire to overeat, moreover it induces a state known as ketosis which runs the body using its own fat instead of using carbs.

“The “keto” in a ketogenic diet comes from the fact that it makes the body produce small fuel molecules called “ketones”,” explains DietDoctor.com. “This is an alternative fuel for the body, used when blood sugar (glucose) is in short supply. Ketones are produced if you eat very few carbs (that are quickly broken down into blood sugar) and only moderate amounts of protein (excess protein can also be converted to blood sugar). On a ketogenic diet, your entire body switches its fuel supply to run almost entirely on fat. Insulin levels become very low, and fat burning increases dramatically. It becomes easy to access your fat stores to burn them off. This is great if you’re trying to lose weight, but there are also other less obvious benefits, such as less hunger and a steady supply of energy, keeping you alert and focused.”

It’s fascinating to tap into the body’s natural back up fuel system that Paleolithic man survived on as the body’s reliance on ketones allowed for a lean and healthy physique to be sculpted pretty much by food. There are also exogenous ketones like the HealthyWiser™ KetoFast™ Supplement Powder which induces ketosis just the same as if one were dieting so the fat burning effects of ketones can be achieved with or without strictly dieting. More importantly, KetoFast™ also enhances nutrient absorption and supports brain health.
