(Newswire.net— May 15, 2018) — Gaza – The number of protesters killed at a border fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip, rose to 58, while more than 2,700 have been wounded, officials in the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
The protests were held during the opening ceremony of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, which is an unnecessary move since the capital of Israel is Tel Aviv. Protesters are Palestinians who have been living in terror for decades and who see Jerusalem, at least a part of the city, as their sacred land.
The dispute between Palestinians and Israeli turned into a full scale genocide as Israel introduced a shoot to kill policy giving permission to Israeli Defense Force (IDF) to kill unarmed protesters.
“This is really of their [Palestinians] way to expressing being essentially in prison with total diplomatic cover from the US,” Max Blumental, analyst and author of “Killing Gaza” documentary told Russia Today.
“We not only see live sniper fire killing over 50, targeting people in not their extremities but their heads and their chests,” Blumental said explaining the “shoot to kill” policy in Gaza strip which he compared with an “open air prison” for Palestinians.
According to the participants, the protesters were wounded with live combat ammunition, while drones delivered tear gas. With this number of victims, Monday is the bloodiest day for Palestinians since the beginning of the Gaza Strip clashes in 2014 between the Palestinian movement of Hamas and Israel, Reuters reports.
The United States officially opened the embassy in Israel on Monday, which was relocated from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Most countries around the globe, both Eastern and Western, condemned the relocation of the US Embassy to Jerusalem, and Turkey revoked its ambassadors from Israel and the US.
The Turkish government also declared three days of mourning on Monday. “Israel is wreaking state terror. Israel is a terror state,” Turkish President Erdogan told Turkish students in London in a speech broadcast by state television. “What Israel has done is a genocide. I condemn this humanitarian drama, the genocide, from whichever side it comes, Israel or America,” said Erdogan.
Meanwhile, the White House blamed Hamas for organizing protests calling them a “gruesome propaganda event.”
This is a “gruesome and unfortunate propaganda attempt” on part of Hamas, deputy White House press secretary Raj Shah told reporters on Monday, adding that Israel has the “right to defend itself.”
Israel, however, executed a “right to defend” by air strikes on Hamas targets during protests, who are refugees, or descendants of refugees, who have been driven into the Gaza Strip during the Middle East War in 1948, following the formation of Israel as a state on territory populated by Palestinians.
