(Newswire.net — May 29, 2018) Orlando, FL — Many researchers from around the world today are investigating the ways to take better care of the liver. Unfortunately, this extremely important organ is quite susceptible to various health threats.

According to researchers, it has long been known that alcohol consumption is an essential risk factor for alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. However, less is actually known about the importance of different drinking patterns.

A study was published in the Journal of Hepatology. The investigators found that alcohol drinking pattern absolutely has a significant involvement in the risk of cirrhosis.

Further, it was found that consumption on a daily basis heightens the risk than less frequent drinking.

According to lead investigator Gro Askgaard, MD, it is the first time their study focused on the risk between daily drinking and drinking five or six days a week. It involved general male population.

Askgaard is from the Department of Hepatology, Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet, and the National Institute of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark.

In earlier studies, the investigators concentrated on alcohol misusers and patients of liver disease. They also compared daily drinking to episodic or a binge drinking pattern.

It has been speculated that daily alcohol exposure inhibits liver regeneration and even worsens liver damage. The investigators of the study tried to see the risk of alcoholic cirrhosis among almost 56,000 participants.

In men, it was revealed that drinking alcohol every day increased the risk of alcoholic cirrhosis. It is important to understand that when the liver gets damaged, it may be difficult or impossible to treat.

Experts continue to warn consumers, particularly men, to avoid or reduce alcohol intake. To take better care of the liver, it may also be helpful to increase intake of fruits and vegetables.

These foods have powerful healing nutrients that could be beneficial for liver health. Most of the therapeutic properties they contain are subjects of many clinical trials and research studies regarding health.

They can be obtained through supplementation, such as Divine Bounty Men’s Multivitamins. Using this supplement may be beneficial, especially since it is loaded with the nutrients that could satisfy the nutritional needs of males.
